DEPARTMENT PROFILE 
The department was established in the year The successful candidates are occupying eminent positions in India as well as abroad and are making significant contributions to the Economic Development of the country in many spheres. The department organizes Seminars of National Level on various topics in emerging areas. Career Guidance Programs and Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs are also carried out.The department has well-qualified staff in all major areas of the discipline. The staff are also well experienced in their respective fields and maintain a good blend of discipline and expertise. The department is supported by over faculty members, catering to the requirements of the student strength of over 300 out of which nearly % are female students. The department is now greatly recognized as a center of educational enterprise and excellence. It has been bestowed with Accreditation by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, India.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
The department has fully developed Internet Lab, software Development Lab, Information System Lab, Computer graphics Lab, UNIX Lab, Database Management Lab with all supported software. The Department provides extensive computing resources for research and education. This includes more than 300 high-performance computers in the range of Linux, Windows, SUN and Apple workstations, a good number of laptop systems. In addition to general purpose file server, the Department maintains two specialized servers for Database clients and Linux based workstations. Department network communications includes a Fiber optic backbone, offering 8Mbps connectivity to the commodity Internet and provides Intranet within the HI-TECH lab which hosts 10 laboratories. The Department has wireless Internet connectivity via a campus-wide 802.11b network to the Laptops. The network is equipped with Cisco routers, switches and Intel switches. Video Conferencing facility is also included in the existing network. Since all the machines in the computer laboratory and its annexure are connected in a switched Fiber Optic Computer Network, one can access any resource from any node in the campus. A variety of software is also made available to the students.The campus computer network covering allbuildings spread over 63 acres has been conceived, studied, planned, designed, optimized, executed and maintained by the department of Computer Science and Engineering.
